So this morning Ryan and I woke up around the usual time 7:30-8AM ish. Wait, I take that back, Ryan had PT (physical training for those of you non-acronym peeps). He was up and moving and I slept until he came back around 7:30-8AM ish.
So far, our typical day is that we get up together, let the dogs out, feed the dogs, make coffee, and have breakfast together before Ryan goes out into the work field of a casual job. Boo. Ryan is not very fond of this job. It's basically a desk job, where he does absolutely nothing.
Any who....we have only been here a month and a half and that is one month and a half where we have not ran into any weird creatures (except for those damn red ants!--I hate you ants). However, it stormed like crazy last night, I mean a big storm. Water was just pouring down and a siren went off on base. We had no idea what it was, we decided it could not be a toronado siren, there are toronados here...right?? Maybe they were just warning everyone to take cover from those crazy storm winds that were rattling the windows all evening....
When morning came, it was calm, cool, and cloudy out. I decided to open up the house a little, you know take advantage of the cool morning. The first thing I opened was the front door and decided to feel just how it was outside and opened the screen door. I glanced down for one second and that is when I saw it! AGH AGH! It was a large spider, the largest I think I have ever seen in my life so far....(not sure about Ryan), but this spider was big, we both agreed without a doubt.
I mean lately we have been taking walks every evening after dinner on these nature trails on the base near our house and everytime we are out there we see nothing. I figured our little creepy spider friend was just trying to get shelter from the rain. We stared at if for a little bit, took a couple pictures, pretty much in awe of it, and then Ryan took off his shoe and killed it.
So I thought for sure we would get a way without having to encounter any new and strange creatures for quite sometime, but it had to start somewhere! So for everyone back home, pray that we don't find one actually IN the house!
R.I.P. large spider; Ryan, know that you will one day have to answer for your actions on this earth
