What the heck has Kalee been doing?

Ok. So many of you know that I am jobless. Jobless, but looking for a job :) I just wanted to share what I am filling my time with while Ryan goes off to work everyday!

This week was super busy for me so it is a great example of all my extracurricular activities! I just want to let you all know that some things are not my cup of tea, but I would go crazy if I did not fill my time doing something....anything.

This Tuesday I attended the OSC monthly meeting. The OSC is the "Officer's Spouse Club." This club is all about charitable events. The OSC's main purpose is to raise money for school activities, scholarships, library funding, etc., etc. I joined this last month and went to the introductory meeting which helped me meet a lot of other people in the same position I am. (Boyfriend, husband, Fiance starting pilot training or is in pilot training.) This last Tuesday was just a regular meeting where we had a dinner and learned how to salsa dance!

The OSC has many sub clubs too. I helped with the annual garage sale that raised money for a local scholarship a few weeks ago, and am now on the Fall Festival Committee (Myself and a few others are running the children's games for this event.)

I also joined the book club and gourmet club. I have yet to have a meeting with these clubs, but I am busy working on the Fall Festival, which brings me to Wed.

Wed. I had two meetings one at 1PM and one at 7PM for fall festival. The committee consists of about 25 girls and then separated into groups focusing on one aspect. At 1PM I had the meeting for children's games and we are planning on doing a big shopping trip this Monday to organize supplies/props/prizes and more. We also worked out our budget, so that we actually make money that we can later donate. At 7PM was our big meeting where all of us get together, share our thoughts, ideas, and progress about our section of the festival. We discussed volunteers needed and all that lame old stuff you discuss for any type of festival :) This upcoming week we also have a meeting to have a photo shoot. The OSC fl yer is putting a picture of the committee on the front I think :)

Last night, which was Thursday I had my Student Spouse Organization meeting. This organization is more of a way to get together and have a good time, whether it be eating out, going to a movie, or just kicking back at one of the girl's houses. Last night we went to Casa De Vino, where we did a wine and cheese sampling. It was a lot of fun and a good way to vent to other girls about our significant others. Well, I mostly listened because Ryan has not really given me anything to complain about, but he also has not started Pilot training and most of the girls venting were ones whose spouse/bf/fiance was in the middle of UPT. (undergraduate pilot training.)

I signed up to be the host of October's Student Spouse social. So I will have my hands full trying to find ideas and planning that!

During the day I am always working on these things, emailing, planning, gathering info etc.

On top of all of this I am doing most of all the cleaning, cooking, and taking care of Molly and Bruce. (hey they get walked twice a day--each for 30-40 min and at least some obedience training) I also work out everyday at the gym for one hour. Most of all, I am CONSTANTLY looking for a job. I have applied at many jobs off base, and a few on base.

I decided now to go back to school and get my teaching certificate. I have narrowed down to a couple of schools and plan on starting once Ryan has transitioned into UPT.

So if you think I am laying on the couch all day watching movies and eating, you are sadly mistaken. (Although I will not lie, I do sneak in a day once in a while where I just veg.....seriously we all need it!) Although, I am happy with how things are going so far..... I planned to be this involved whether I had a job or not. I like to keep busy and I think it will be important for me to have something to call my own once Ryan is busy with UPT.

Well, so long!

Kalee
