Molly and Bruce's Garbage Adventure/Bruce is soooooooo Strange!

Last week was a pretty crazy week for the dogs.

First, they decided one day when I ran out for only twenty minutes, to destroy the FULL garbage sitting in the kitchen and drag bits and pieces of garbage in to various rooms. When I came home to find this garbage everywhere, I was furious, however, I could not help, but laugh because it was pretty funny and GROSS! (The pictures speak for themselves!)

Not only did they destroy the garbage, but Bruce in particular did some weird stuff. One night we took them for a walk and at the end Bruce decided he just wanted to lay down. Well, he sure layed down and would not get back UP! Ryan had to go over and pick him up, but the dog just stayed limp. We decided to pull on his collar, but all that did was drag his limp body across the grassy bed he was laying on. We could not figure out what his deal was. Grass soft? Too Tired? Lazy? Dumb?

Then later that week, we took them for a car ride and when we got home, Bruce refused to get out of the car, going limp again. We had to pick him up (he is a heavy boy) and drag him out of the car. Literally, we dragged him. We had him by his upper body and his legs were grazing the back seat and the door. Most dogs stiffen up or end up just moving, but nope, Bruce just goes limp.

Then to top everything off, this weekend we took them for a walk and we let them off of their leashes on this back nature trail and they both run everywhere chasing rabbits and stuff. They love it! So at the very end of the walk when we are off the trail and heading towards our house and the sidewalk, we turned around to find that Bruce was gone! We called his name for about 20min before Ryan went and got the car. Right as we were about to go driving on those back trails and right before I was about to cry, we drove past the house and there he was just hanging out in the front yard.

We have only had Bruce for about two months now, and well, we are still trying to figure him out. He makes us frustrated and mad sometimes, but for the most part we are laughing our asses off!

What the heck has Kalee been doing?

Ok. So many of you know that I am jobless. Jobless, but looking for a job :) I just wanted to share what I am filling my time with while Ryan goes off to work everyday!

This week was super busy for me so it is a great example of all my extracurricular activities! I just want to let you all know that some things are not my cup of tea, but I would go crazy if I did not fill my time doing something....anything.

This Tuesday I attended the OSC monthly meeting. The OSC is the "Officer's Spouse Club." This club is all about charitable events. The OSC's main purpose is to raise money for school activities, scholarships, library funding, etc., etc. I joined this last month and went to the introductory meeting which helped me meet a lot of other people in the same position I am. (Boyfriend, husband, Fiance starting pilot training or is in pilot training.) This last Tuesday was just a regular meeting where we had a dinner and learned how to salsa dance!

The OSC has many sub clubs too. I helped with the annual garage sale that raised money for a local scholarship a few weeks ago, and am now on the Fall Festival Committee (Myself and a few others are running the children's games for this event.)

I also joined the book club and gourmet club. I have yet to have a meeting with these clubs, but I am busy working on the Fall Festival, which brings me to Wed.

Wed. I had two meetings one at 1PM and one at 7PM for fall festival. The committee consists of about 25 girls and then separated into groups focusing on one aspect. At 1PM I had the meeting for children's games and we are planning on doing a big shopping trip this Monday to organize supplies/props/prizes and more. We also worked out our budget, so that we actually make money that we can later donate. At 7PM was our big meeting where all of us get together, share our thoughts, ideas, and progress about our section of the festival. We discussed volunteers needed and all that lame old stuff you discuss for any type of festival :) This upcoming week we also have a meeting to have a photo shoot. The OSC fl yer is putting a picture of the committee on the front I think :)

Last night, which was Thursday I had my Student Spouse Organization meeting. This organization is more of a way to get together and have a good time, whether it be eating out, going to a movie, or just kicking back at one of the girl's houses. Last night we went to Casa De Vino, where we did a wine and cheese sampling. It was a lot of fun and a good way to vent to other girls about our significant others. Well, I mostly listened because Ryan has not really given me anything to complain about, but he also has not started Pilot training and most of the girls venting were ones whose spouse/bf/fiance was in the middle of UPT. (undergraduate pilot training.)

I signed up to be the host of October's Student Spouse social. So I will have my hands full trying to find ideas and planning that!

During the day I am always working on these things, emailing, planning, gathering info etc.

On top of all of this I am doing most of all the cleaning, cooking, and taking care of Molly and Bruce. (hey they get walked twice a day--each for 30-40 min and at least some obedience training) I also work out everyday at the gym for one hour. Most of all, I am CONSTANTLY looking for a job. I have applied at many jobs off base, and a few on base.

I decided now to go back to school and get my teaching certificate. I have narrowed down to a couple of schools and plan on starting once Ryan has transitioned into UPT.

So if you think I am laying on the couch all day watching movies and eating, you are sadly mistaken. (Although I will not lie, I do sneak in a day once in a while where I just veg.....seriously we all need it!) Although, I am happy with how things are going so far..... I planned to be this involved whether I had a job or not. I like to keep busy and I think it will be important for me to have something to call my own once Ryan is busy with UPT.

Well, so long!

Bruce---Lee--our new dog

Ryan and I recently added a new family memeber--his name is Bruce, he is a male boxer, 4 years old, and is completely opposite of Molly (for those of you who know Molly--you know what I mean!)
Bruce is so calm, quiet (no barking), and only wants to be pet and loved---ALL THE FREAKING TIME! Really, all he does if you are sitting down is sit in front of you and stare at you. Ryan and I tell him all the time "Bruce, stop being a creepster!" :) :) Oh, and Ryan declared the Bruce smells like chinese food, hence the "Bruce Lee" title. Yeah, funny, right? It was funny up until I gave him and Molly both a bath, and he still came out smelling like egg drop soup and won ton!

We love him dearly inspite of his chinese scented body odor!
He is such a wonderful dog, he and Molly just play play play. The are constantly chasing eachother up and down the hall ways and play fighting. For example, Bruce will start nibbling on Molly's leg, then Molly will reach around and nibble on his neck and it goes from there.

I just wanted to put some pictures on here of him and Molly! I hope you guys can meet him someday--Molly is so happy to have another dog around!

Front Door Step Surprise--Texas Style

So this morning Ryan and I woke up around the usual time 7:30-8AM ish. Wait, I take that back, Ryan had PT (physical training for those of you non-acronym peeps). He was up and moving and I slept until he came back around 7:30-8AM ish.

So far, our typical day is that we get up together, let the dogs out, feed the dogs, make coffee, and have breakfast together before Ryan goes out into the work field of a casual job. Boo. Ryan is not very fond of this job. It's basically a desk job, where he does absolutely nothing.

Any who....we have only been here a month and a half and that is one month and a half where we have not ran into any weird creatures (except for those damn red ants!--I hate you ants). However, it stormed like crazy last night, I mean a big storm. Water was just pouring down and a siren went off on base. We had no idea what it was, we decided it could not be a toronado siren, there are toronados here...right?? Maybe they were just warning everyone to take cover from those crazy storm winds that were rattling the windows all evening....

When morning came, it was calm, cool, and cloudy out. I decided to open up the house a little, you know take advantage of the cool morning. The first thing I opened was the front door and decided to feel just how it was outside and opened the screen door. I glanced down for one second and that is when I saw it! AGH AGH! It was a large spider, the largest I think I have ever seen in my life so far....(not sure about Ryan), but this spider was big, we both agreed without a doubt.

I mean lately we have been taking walks every evening after dinner on these nature trails on the base near our house and everytime we are out there we see nothing. I figured our little creepy spider friend was just trying to get shelter from the rain. We stared at if for a little bit, took a couple pictures, pretty much in awe of it, and then Ryan took off his shoe and killed it.

So I thought for sure we would get a way without having to encounter any new and strange creatures for quite sometime, but it had to start somewhere! So for everyone back home, pray that we don't find one actually IN the house!
